Great idea about the ribbon. I'll have to try it. But I also have another duvet problem-before I got Bubba, I had a beuatiful WHITE duvet cover and I guess I don't even need to go there. So I got a light green one, then we got Sissy. Between the two of them with their scratching up (it was woven so they broke threads)a comfortable nest to lay in and the carp they drag in from the outside (dirt, sand, leaves and twigs)it got to be a mess. So, I just went out, purchased a dark maroon red one (plain striped cotton) figuring the problem would be finally solved. Now there are white stops on the duvet from where they lay and chew on their bully sticks, sand, leaves and slobber show up like crazy. Plus you can see every indentation from where they have walked and rested on the bed. I think the solution is to just throw a plastic sheet over the bed or just sleep on a mattress on the floor!
p.s. getting rid of them is out of the question
