The #1 reason for returning or rehoming a Yorkie puppy is inability to housebreak. I have seen them rehomed at even two years old.
Given your husbands reluctance to have this dog in the house, I would suggest finding a whole new home for it. It isn't going to work out with you and I would rather see him in a home that can handle these issues.
The more wound up you get over potty issues, the more sensitive the dog is and the more likely there will be marking and accidents.
Before one of my puppies goes to a new home, the whole family has to be enthusiastic and they are well informed about all aspects of Yorkie ownership, upside as well as the downside.
I agree! Why put your family and this pup through the stress if pottying in the house is an issue??? My husband used to get really upset with this too....argh, my life was not happy. Fortunately, he got over it (he's made a complete and full recovery ...he finally got it) and that's coincided nicely with our ever expanding fur family. Talk it over with hubby, if he's determined to be unhappy with potty accidents, reconsider.

That being said, if you decide to go ahead with it, I do wish you luck. Also, send me a pm, I have the lowdown on great diapers for yorkies Bernie used to wear diapers...not for potty training, for neurological reasons. I'd hate to see anyone go through the expense I went through looking for the perfect diaper, when I've found it.
