I'm sure many of us have been or are in the same boat with you on this problem. Disiplining with a newspaper????

A firm NO (or such) and take him to the potty pad....but ONLY if you catch him in the act. Otherwise they don't have a clue what you are mad about if you disipline them after the fact.
Other than that....3 P's Persistance, Patience,....Pays off!
