Yes, we're pretty sure it's because he had a porta cath line right near where his ostomy bag is and a day or two before he got sick his ostomy bag had come loose and leaked onto the dressing for the porta cath so he pretty much had it introduced directly into a line. Again, I go back to the fact that a child with a white blood cell count of 1 had no bussiness being let out of the hospital. They have said now that if his blood cell count is down that he will always be hospitalized during that time. Which only makes sence to me.
As of today, he has started peeing...YAY! One small step in the right direction!

We also have another step in the wrong direction though as well. Last night and today he has not been able to keep his blood pressure DOWN and his heart rate UP. His heart rate has been 50-60 pretty much since last night. They have been leary of giving him any meds to bring the pressure down as when he came in and they lost his heart beat it was because his pressure was too low.
He is in the OR as we speak trying to have a line placed. It should be a simple thing but he has been in since 6pm so it is taking a very long time. He has had so much trouble with line placements in the past that once we almost lost him (shortly after transplant) So we are praying that his pressure and heart rate are not causing trouble while he's in there tonight. Once he comes out tonight they are going to watch him for a short time and then hopefully give him some meds to bring his heart rate down.
They are still unable to get him weaned from the ventilator. he just doesn't seem to be able to do it on his own yet.
Please, lots of prayers tonight that things go smoothly.
Thanks ladies!
