I always caution new puppy enquirers that the Yorkie and often any of the Toy breeds such as Chi's, toy poodles, etc may not be the right breed for them particularly if potty issues are a problem for any member of the family.
The #1 reason for returning or rehoming a Yorkie puppy is inability to housebreak. I have seen them rehomed at even two years old.
Given your husbands reluctance to have this dog in the house, I would suggest finding a whole new home for it. It isn't going to work out with you and I would rather see him in a home that can handle these issues.
The more wound up you get over potty issues, the more sensitive the dog is and the more likely there will be marking and accidents.
Before one of my puppies goes to a new home, the whole family has to be enthusiastic and they are well informed about all aspects of Yorkie ownership, upside as well as the downside.
