Icon2 How far is too far?

I have a question or two regarding exercise. I've been trying to get off my excess baby weight, so Chuy and I have been taking walks together. Right now, we walk about a mile (just over) a day, and it's a pretty fast pace. He's on a long lead attached to his harness, and it allows him to take time to run ahead, sniff, pee, whatever, and it seems to work. I'd like to add another mile or so (again, just over) to our walk, but I don't want to hurt Chuy. Here is the question. At a brisk pace, how far is too far for him? Should I break it up into two walks, one in the am and one in the pm, or just consolidate them? What are your experiences with walking your small babies? Ok, so there's more than one question involved, lol. I just worry, because Chuy is small, around 5 pounds, and I don't want to hurt him, but he loves our walks as much as I do. TIA for any advice.
