Mine fight the toothbrush, not the gel. They will lick the gel.
I use the spray in the morning when I'm in a hurry and they have morning breath, and I use the gel at night with baby toothbrushes I buy at Target 2/$1.
I think the gel coats better than the spray. If they fight the toothbrush you can just smear it on their teeth.
