One of my replies didn't post for some reason, so I'll try it again.
Hercules eats exactly what the breeders fed him--Royal Canin--for yorkies (adult) and moist and meaty treats by Purina as rewards for going potty. The only change to his diet has been when I gradually switched him from the puppy formula to the adult.
He rarely, if ever, gets table food. For his birthday, we risked it and gave him real turkey. He loved it and had no negative reaction.
The vomit usually is the yellow/white foamy stuff. I know the vet tech told me yorkies can get nauseous if they don't have food in their tummies. I try to keep a little dry food in his bowl all day.
I just don't get it!
