I understand that they can be standing by 8 weeks of age, but also may flop back down off and on through the age of 6 months while puppies are teething. I have one yorkie with floppy ears (because back then I didn't know any better about their ears) and my second yorkie's ears were floppy when I got her, but knowing better this time and wanting them to stand erect, I didn't want to take any chances. So I used the taping trick. It worked like a charm. For more info on taping ears, either do a "search" here on it, or google "taping yorkies ears". You should get tons of info.
