I ended up not making the salad because I remembered they had a big salad the last time I spent Thanksgiving with them and figured we didn't need two- what a mistake!
Thanksgiving, food-wise, turned out to be my worst case scenario. There was no salad- the ONLY thing that did not have meat was the cranberry sauce which I don't like and sweet potatoes which I just gambled on them not having been made with marshmallows. My Thanksgiving dinner consisted of a roll, some cantaloupe and honeydew that I snagged from the h'orderves table, a few olives, and sweet potatoes. This was eaten while being made fun of by my SIL's father. It was definitely a time to remind myself that Thanksgiving is a day to reflect on all that you are thankful for and not the meal.
Kim, I sure would have had a better day with you! BTW, I did buy the ingredients for the salad and we'll be having it tonight or tomorrow. |
I just went looking for this post to see how the fruit salsa went over with your family and I am SO HAPPY that they all enjoyed it as much as I do!! I make it all the time and my family and friends just cannot get enough of it!! Glad it worked out for you!!!!
Warmly....Christina
