Gotta be patient and persistent in the brushing routine. i started with just cotton pad with doggie toothpast then just toothpaste on toothbrush and let him lick it..then gradually to just touching or swapping his tooth with it..now he is pretty much used to it but I still prefer to do it when he is sleeping or napping or after playing. it makes it easier and you can brush a tad longer
