I have not tried it. I live in Michigan also and was using Advantix. I heard some things I didn't like about it and switched to Frontline but haven't had to use it yet. I only medicate for fleas if it is absolutely necessary (if I see any on Ellie). So no, I don't do it in the winter. Since they are pesticides I won't do it if it's not necessary.
