My 9-month old Yorkie got fleas and my vet was away on vacation. I went to the supermarket which of course only carried Hartz products. I got the kind for small dogs. Sargie vomited within minutes of my putting it on him. He didn't eat for days. When we were on the verge of taking him to the emergency vet he started to eat. The vet gave me Myconex flea shampoo, which didn't work, and then Protocall (he didn't want to give me Advantix or Frontline) which didn't work. I ended up using Zodiac Puppy spray which did kill the fleas, although it has been tough to get them out of the house...hope the cold killed them - I have birds and fish, and can't "bomb" -at any rate, I wouldn't use Hartz again - except the rawhide chews! |
