The standard is a set of guidelines that show people try to achieve in their yorkies...in other words...it's the "perfect yorkie" which doesn't exist, but when you hear people say that breeders should breed to "improve the breed" that is what they are referring to...breeding to get as close to the breed standard and the "perfect yorkie" as posible.
If you are not planning on showing your yorkie then it doesn't matter and your baby is still a yorkie. A precious, loveable baby who is beautiful in every way!
