Definitely get a bile acids test done. Dr. Center from Cornell recommends that you get a bile acids test done before you even bring a puppy from a "highly affected breed" home from the breeder. Yorkies are listed first on her list of highly affected breeds.

I belong to a Maltese forum and more and more people are getting smart enough to insist that this is done before they bring their puppy home if their breeder isn't already routinely doing it. It can save you thousands of dollars and a lot of heartbreak to get this inexpensive test done then.

I know your dog is an adult, but it is still important to get the test done asap since liver disease is such a problem in this breed.
