My puppy did the same thing for the first few days when we got him home. The vet said it is quite normal not to drink very much due to stress and also because the moist food has a lot of water in it too. Of course I still worried and got a small syringe, and he drank water from that. The vet also said that sometimes they will notice that the water tastes different in their new home and it will take awhile to get used to.
As far as going to the bathroom, mine did the same thing too. A lot of people told me that they will go within 30 mins. of eating or drinking, but Sully routintely only goes after a nap. I don't think he's gone close after eating or drinking since we got him. |
