Hi! Congrats on the new puppy! What you're experiencing is pretty normal when getting a new furbaby. Mine cried at night for the first week or so. It was so bad that my poor boyfriend had to wear earplugs so he could get some sleep.
But I would recommend putting him in the crate at night, even if he cries all night long. In a few days or maybe even a week hey will get used to it. My little guy actually sleeps in there voluntarily now.
your new puppy is just going through a stresfult time being taken away from his mother and litter mates, and has probably never slept by himself before either. I promise he will get used to it, and eventually even like it.
As for the biting, my little guy is going through this right now. He bites my hands when we got to pet him and he is a huge ankle biter too! So what I've been doing, I got this advice from another member here, is when he bites I dip my finger into this stuff called "Bitter Apple" or "Bitter End" and put it on his tongue. They don't like the taste and then he starts to lick instead of bite. It seems to be working. He's biting less and less now. You can also spray it on anything that he's chewed that he's not supposed to be chewing.
Hope that helps! Take care and let us know how things go.
