 Prayers please
A year ago today, a friend of my daughter's died as a result of a tragic accident that happened 6 days earlier (Nov. 20, 2006.) Erika was 16 in the prime of her life - their cheerleading squad had just won the state championship and she was a happy friendly girl. Erika had been to the mall by herself and was driving home. It was about 9 pm & a false alarm fire at the mall sent a huge fire engine out. The lights were flashing on the truck & those lights should have signaled the traffic lights to turn red for crossing traffic, for the fire engine to get thru the intersection.
The lights failed, Erika had a green light - the fire engine slammed into her car. She spent the next several days on life support. It was a horrid tragedy, but she was a Christian attending a Christian school for only the second yr - at her funeral, her family & her classmates and fellow cheerleaders, really had an impact on her friends from her former school who didn't have the assuredness of a life in heaven.
Can you please pray for Erika's family today as they continue the grieving process. And also please pray for the fireman, Vinnie, Ryan and James, who were in the fire engine that struck Erika. These men have truly struggled with what happened. |
