I have had migraines since puberty, although much less frequently now, maybe 2 a year. They are absolutely awful. I am out of commission if I get one because I can't do anything but be in a dark room. I get the dizziness, vomiting, the whole deal. I tried Midrin, Imitrex, I even did a clinical trial for Relpax (didn't work). Midrin and Imitrex work if I took it immediately, but wasn't always really sure they were migraines until they were full blown.
My miracle drug is: BC Headache powders. I know, I know! It sounds weird that an over the counter helps more than anything, but it's true for me. I keep them with me always..my purse, my desk drawer at work..etc. Anytime I feel a headache starting on one side of my head I take it, so I really think I have headed off migraines this way. It is the only way to explain the drastic reduction in the number of these headaches I get.
I hope these don't become a problem for your husband. Could it be stress induced? Mine usually happen AFTER a stressful event is over. |
