Based on how my dogs have been and I have 5 Yorkies I have always let them work it out.
Our Mandy would hide from Krissy when Krissy was a puppy. Krissy bite in playing.
After Mandy had Chelsey EVERYONE would hide or run! Chelsey was a very aggressive player and would bite, jump and attack all the others. Now Chelsey is almost two and is 4.3 lbs and is alpha over the other six dogs including a 14 lb male Yorkie. Teddy would cower when Chelsey attacked him. He would whine and cry. After Chelsey figured he won't play or fight she gave up - it took awhile. They are great buddies now.
They all get along great as long as Chelsey is first for everything.
She is quite the Diva
