Are you thinking he may actually be dehydrated? If so, check his gums - they should be pink, not pale. Puppies, if healthy, are pretty good about keeping up on their water naturally. However, when you first get them home - they will be more stressed in the new environment. You could dab your fingers in the water, and put to his lips, you could add a bit of karo syrup or pedialyte to his water to make it taste good - and, worst case, you could give water w/ a syringe in his mouth.

He isn't shaky or anything, right? Oh - just thought of something - when you're mixing dry food w/ canned - add extra water to the mix, that will get extra water in his system too.

What is "Hiser" dog food, never heard of it...
