Oh my goodness! My heart goes out to your husband. I have suffered from migraines since I was eleven. Mine are known as "menstral migraines" and I have at least one a month. For me, they last from 3 to 5 days.
Did you husband notice seeing any kind of aura or disturbance in his vision? For some people, but not all, that is a precurser to a migraine attack. To me it sounds like he had a classic migraine or possibly even a cluster headache. Was the pain located on one side or area of his head? Mine always occur right near my right brow bone and eyebrow. Small area for so much pain.
I have tried almost everything for mine, from prescriptions and over the counter to home/holistic remedies. Right now I'm on Relpax and it does pretty well if I can take it at the very beginning of an attack.
I pray that this will be a rare occurance for your husband. Alot of people think,"Ahh...its just a headache." Let me assure you,its anything but just a headache.
Blessings to you and yours,
Angie
