Hi Fran,
I too live in the big freeze........Manitoba! My Yorkies are trained to the pee pads as well as they will use disposable ones if we travel or go see friends/family or to the Nursing homes! My Abbey hates the crate....she will literally shreek & keep biting at the bars...scares me I don't want her teeth damaged! Beamer on the other hand is very low keyed and doesn't mind the crate......so long story short we do not crate! I have used a baby gate to keep them in the kitchen/dining room area but alas...Abbey has learned to climb that too! Congratulations Grandma!
