Just recently had both my boys neutered. Had the vet check their teeth during a visit around 6 months of age, cause I was concerned that no matter how much I brushed Bengie's teeth they stayed an ugly brown. Wouldn't you know it, Bengie had no problems with his baby teeth or his bite, in fact, the vet said that it was really unusual for a yorkie to have such great teeth, I said ok, then why are they so decayed looking and brown? It seems that my fave (being really facetious here) backyard breeder had given Bengie a very strong antibiotic prior to his adult teeth being fully formed. While his teeth are in otherwise perfect condition, the color and enamel is permanently discolored. When I had Garrett neutered last month (along with Bengie) the vet only had to remove one tooth and Garrett has the prettiest little teeth and smile (don't laugh, he does), that you have ever seen. I understand that baby teethe are a problem with yorkies, but with all the problems I have had buying from a con artist backyard breeder, at least they have good teeth. By the way, anyone looking for a yorkie in the greater LA area, do NOT BUY FROM EDDY KISS. he sells sick dogs, I got two (not counting the two I have now) on two different occasions, long story, but do not buy from him.
