Pet shopes get their puppies from puppy mills. Of course many will say they get their puppies from local breeders. That's a common lie. Who would want to buy a puppy from a pet store if they knew the truth?
I know many people who have been told their pet shop puppy came from a local breeder only to find out they really came from a mill in Missouri or Oklahoma after they got the papers.
Please don't buy another pet store puppy. You are only asking for more heartache and big vet bills. Remember just because a puppy is healthy for the first few years doesn't mean they will stay healthy. Poorly bred dogs carry genetic "time bombs" that often don't go off for many years.
You may have to change your mind about having a puppy shipped from a reputable breeder. Instead of flying in cargo, a great alternative is having it carried on board. I know several people on another forum I belong to have used this option to bring their new puppy home. Or you can fly yourself to get your puppy. |
