Mine have had "pokey things" too and it turned out to be the end of the stitch poking through the skin. If it bothered them (or me
) too much I cut it off or just pulled it out if enough time had passed that it wasn't attached to the inside stitch anymore - if that makes sense.
I guess I would at least call the vet first and tell them what's going on to see if you need to go in again.
