Our Yorkie has been diagnosed with stage II periodontal disease but after reading about the treatment we're hesitant to proceed. Wondering if anyone has a 'home remedy' that we could try?

Not sure what caused it, she's always only had dry food. Someone suggested that it was from the hair around her mouth so we started having that trimmed shorter.
