Neither of my yorkies eat their poop, but my lab is a poop feind!!!!!!!! I have tried EVERYTHING! I've tried pineapple, meat tenderizer, stuff you get from the pet store that you sprinkle on their food, etc. etc. None of it worked and none of it is good for them. What I have to do is watch all the dogs when they go outside to potty and if any of them poop, I have to pick it up IMMEDIATELY or my lab will eat it.
I would be completely shocked if your yorkie did not grow out of this behavior considering his age. What I would recommend is picking it up right away after he goes and break his habit. Before long, he will probably have forgotten what poop tastes like and not do it anymore. I wouldn't put anything on his food considering his age. |
