I have allergies, though not to my indoor dogs. If I have the same dogs outside all the time, I become allergic to them. Something in the air gets in their coat maybe? Not that I would ever have yorkies outside, but I found this to be true with my previous shelties.
I take Zyrtec when I need to, and use a nasal spray called Beconase daily, year round. The Beconase is my life saver...it is prescription and not to be compared with things you buy over the counter. It takes a few weeks to be effective, but I have significantly less allergies now.
