Whatever you decide I highly recommend that you have her in your room. Its not fair to take her away from her mom and littermates and then expect her to sleep all alone. Also, personally, I have never left a puppy to cry, ever. If its comfort they want then comfort they get, and i'm not really a fan of crates. Mine are in the bed from day 1, its been like that for years and it works great. We all get a fantastic nights sleep with no disturbances.

However, if you don't want her in the bed then I have a suggestion, put her in a comfy little bed on the bedroom floor and underneath and around the bed put some newspaper down, when she wakes up and gets out of the bed the noise she will make on the paper should wake you up, you can then take her to her toileting area and comfort her until she is really to fall back to sleep by herself.
