If you check the ingredients, the cat one is stronger than the dog. I had bought a bunch of frontline for the dogs and started using it on the cat. It works better on the cat than it did the dogs, they are on advantage now. I've been using it on my cat for the past 3 or 4 months with no problem but I wouldn't put the cat one on the dog because , i think it's the methoprene, is stronger in the cat one than the dog
