Default double teeth

As a foster mom, I have the occasion of bringing yorkies to the vet on a pretty regular basis. Our group always has them vetted immediately upon accepting them into the fold. My vet is very thorough, and when she does the spay or neuter she automatically does the dental if they need it, such as removing the puppy teeth or any rotten teeth which is usually the case in the rescue furkids.
One more thing that she does for me is microchip them while under anesthesia so that they won't have to endure the big needle later on during a regular vetting experience. This must be a pretty common thing for them to retain their baby teeth to some extent, since most of mine wind up having to have some removed.
I have no idea whether or not the extra teeth hurt them, since they are done within the first couple of days in foster, and usually it's the next day. But I would think that it would cause them some discomfort just based on the way my teeth used to feel before I had them all out!!! LOL
She has never talked to me about just leaving them alone and maybe they will fall out so I don't know if that will happen or not, but I think she just goes ahead and takes care of it all at once to make their transition into foster from usually a bad situation one that has more potential to work for the dogs.
