I own 2 pugs, and the ONLY thing I have found to help with shedding is a comb called the Furminator. I ordered it online, from either Petco or PetSmart. It comes in a couple of sizes, I ordered the yellow one and it is the right size.

This has special "teeth" that strip out the loose undercoat, which is what sheds. (Doesn't hurt them at all, they actually like it now that they are used to being brushed) The first time I used it--you should have seen the hair! I could have knitted a sweater.

I feel this really helps with shedding; I would estimated that my dogs shed about 70% less now. When I first got it, I used it on them every 3 days for about 2 weeks. And now I use it once a week. It is a little pricey (seems like around $30 maybe) but for me it is well worth it.

Furminator also has a shedding shampoo to be used along with it, but I haven't tried that.
