Thank you all for you prayers and concern for our little Maggie, but she was just so sick, she didn't make it. They worked so very hard, but she just kept getting worse. Her protein had dropped low and they gave her plasma on Thursday. She had a reaction to it so they had to stop. They gave her dex on Friday and tried again witht the plasma. This time they got about 9ml in her befor she spit up. We then tried to feed her again after about an hour, but she wouldn't even swallow. We had made the decision if she hadn't shown any signs of improvement by 3:00 that day, we would let her go. This was about 2:00 and it was just so obvious and she had only been getting weaker all day and I just couldn't stand to see her suffer any more. The doctors were so good and truly did everything they could for her. This has been such a sad experience for all of us. She was just soooo sweet. We definetly want to get another one. We will always love our Maggie because she was wonderful, and she sure let us know that we love the yorkie breed. Of course the breeder said they would replace the puppy "when they have one" and by S.C. law, they state we got her in, (I live in N. C.) they will reimburse up to half of what I paid for the dog towards vet bills if the dogs passes, which I will seek, but I don't know if I will get another dog from them. There are a couple of things I'm a little leary about. Plus, I just don't know that I want to wait for who knows how long to get one and for the potential hassle there may be, and there may not be, I don't know so Iam not trying to bad mouth the breeder at all.

Anyway, thank you all again for your support. I will keep reading your stories and information as I will have another yorkie baby sooner than later, I hope. The only thing is, my little girl wants to name the next one Maggie as well and I'm not so sure that is a good idea, but I suppose we will cross that bridge a little later. Maybe if I start suggesting other names... The only thing is, she called my mother Gama which is sort of why I wanted to name the puppy Maggie, kind of a play off Gama if you switch the letters around and her registered name was going to be something like Sweet as Gama's Kisses or something along those lines, which I never got to register her, so I don't know. Any thoughts?
