Good question Dee...I know Lexie (and I think most dogs) have 10, but normally the top 2 aren't much good. I know with Lexie's litter, her nipples closest to her front legs were soooo small there was nothing for the pups to latch onto and we ended up letting the milk dry up in those two. So yea, Pippin might have to watch that all the pups get plenty of nursing time.
