What a little dickens!!
She MAY just be pushing your buttons. If she's eating things she really likes, she could be holding out for more pampering.... or she could just need a day or two to get back on track. Is she normal otherwise? What are her activity levels etc.?
Also, keep in mind that some medications actually make them feel pretty crappy. Friends of mine have a 14 year old husky who's in kidney failure and has been failing. Her appetite is severely depressed, she has no interest in any food and brings up the miniscule amounts they were able to get into her. They'd taken her in for subcu fluids and progress assessments, tried different medications and prescription foods..all to no avail.
Several times they were ready to take her in for that final appointment.
As a last resort, they took her off her meds....and she's had 3 weeks of better health than she's had in months. She's eating, active, alert and has gained about 7 lbs.
We all know it's just a matter of time before she "crashes", but for her.... medication was causing more harm than good. |
