when I worked at the shelter here.. our application had the question "how much do you plan on spending on this dog yearly?" we didn't use this to approve or deny the applicant, we then used this as a way in the interview to talk about the cost of care and how quickly it can add up.. i.e. we had a pup there get a treat lodged at the base of it's heart (in the throat) and it was blocking it's airway.. we had to take it to the emer. vet to get xrays to make sure no fluid got in the lungs etc.. anyways.. it cost almost 300. we would tell that story because it shows
anything can happen
