I have heard good things and bad. I know a few people that have had GB and for the most part were happy with the weight loss but, then they have all that loose skin that needs to be removed. I'm not sure if insurance will cover that. I also know of a couple of people that have gained all, and then some, of their weight back. Some of the negatives I've heard is...I can't eat what I want anymore. A very good friend of mine had the lap band surgery, less invasive and the weight comes off slower than GB surgery.
I believe you have to go for a year of counseling before you can get the surgery. I know of this one young woman that had gone for counseling to get ready for her surgery and they told her that her reasons for wanting the surgery were not what they wanted to hear and they refused her.
