When we got Ariel at 10 weeks old, she was already used to going on the pee pee pads. But, she's still a puppy and still has her accidents. When I catch her squatting down to go on the carpet, I firmly say "No" and take her to the pad. Once she's done, I praise her with "Good Jobs" and sometimes give her a treat.
She's not 100% trained on the pads yet, but she's getting there.
