It's a mixture of puppy milk of some kind, ground dry puppy food, baby cereal, and water. Or something like Ladyhawk was describing. If you do a "search" of the word gruel, I think you'll come up with a recipe somewhere. That's what I did. You've got a while before you need to think about this though.
