Well, I just had a bit of a success. As I mentioned, I had tried giving them a little gruel once or twice with what seemed like very little success. Most of the gruel I had made (which wasn't much) ended up being eaten by Lexie when the pups didn't seem to have much interest in it. In trying to get them to eat it, I tried first dipping my fingers in it and having them lick it off of them to get a taste, then moving them to the dish...they showed little interest. WELL, just now I decided to try again. This time instead of sitting with them trying to get them to eat, I just put the dish in their xpen and stood back. Success! Without me in there as a disctraction for them to want to go play with, they all pretty much lapped it almost entirely gone! I then put a small dish of shallow water in there and they all tried a little of that too. So, I think we've hit a milestone and we're on our way in the weaning process. How's it going with you Yolanda?
I guess I still wonder....4 puppies...how much food with each feeding? What I just fed them was 2 TBS dry to 4 TBS liquid.
