I have an IUD also but its the paragard. I went with that one because I just did not want anything with hormones. I LOVE mine. when he inserted it, it was a little uncomfortable but def not painful. my first cycle was a bit different but everything has went back to normal. I seriously forget that its there. I really do think this the best choice I made. Its effective for 10 years so far its been 3 yrs and its working great *knocks on wood*
