I grew up with miniature poodles and love the breed dearly. But if I was forced to make a choice between the two breeds, I too would lean towards a Yorkie. I too am a fan of their fiesty and playful character.
Don't get me wrong, poodles are very smart and playful too but a Yorkie just seems to find a way to entertain themselves which in turn entertains us. They definitely are little terriers!
PS: My three yorkies don't bark as nearly as much as any of my poodles did. The barking/yapping just varies from one dog to another. Fortunately my three are not yappers - phew....
I also think caring for their coats is much easier with a Yorkie than a Poodle.
Which ever breed you choose you will get the perfect companion for you! I'm just so impressed that you are taking this seriously to come here to learn more about the breed! Kudos to you my friend! |
