I have a small playpen that I use when the litters are very small. I get a cheap plastic table cloth from Big Lots or Walmart and cut it to size then tape in to the sides a few inches up (just below the mesh) Then I can clean it with a mixture of white vinegar and water to help eliminate any odors. But I do cover the bottom with the pee pads and the tablecloth is just a back up for any leaks.
