Coco was spayed at about 7 months. She came home the same day. Our vet gave her pain meds before she left and she did fine. She was quiet all night and into the next day, but recovered quickly therafter.
I'm sure if you have her done about a week before Christmas she'll be all set to open her presents (and yours)
