I thought the same of my Chico but now he is 5 1/2 months his hair is a beauty! He is very blonde on his head with black tips b/c of baby hair growing out and his body is already a light silver. His coat is very silky. I read somewhere too that the thin hair on a puppy is supposed to be a tip off of a very nice silky coat as an adult.
