We recently lost our Yorkie to a genetic condition named"Collapsing Trachea". She was diagnosed @ 5yo and died @ 9yrs.old. She experienced this reverse sneezing, honking problem frequently --especially when excited.

We found that keeping her from being to heavy helped.
Keeping her cool. House temp set at 69 degrees @ night,
Keeping her from getting too excited.

She loved most of all going for car rides,a lightly baked beef rib bone at night once a week,a new toy,and of course her mom being close by.

Vet advised that there was no really effective remedy yet.

Maybe someday there will be progress in identifying those
bloodlines that this condition shows up in.

Please note I am not saying your pet has this problem just relaying what happened to us and hopefully giving you a
research option.
