Happened to us too!!!........ what a mess!......... You DO know that your insurance Co. will pay to replace any damage that it caused, right? It just won't pay to replace the water heater. We got all new carpet in the areas that were flooded AND had someone also replace the linolium in the bathroom... the HOT water made the adhesive on the linolium come loose. If you have insurance and a lot of damage, you may want to give them a call. (They also might pay for cleanup... and making sure that it is good and dry so there isn't any MOLD issues later.)
Sorry to hear of your misfortune. But...... you are not alone!

......maybe you can go out and celebrate it this coming weekend!
