Default Recurring staph infections?

My 2 year old yorkie was "diagnosed" with allergies this past Spring. We had a long summer with her and have finally taken her off of Benedryl and are feeding her Natural Balance Allergy food, which seems to be working great - plus summer in TX has ended.

Over the summer on two or three different occassions she had what the vet said were staph infections due to allergies. I just bathed her and noticed the red spots on her lower belly again. I'm so tired of going to the vet and getting paying a lot of $$ for a temporary fix. They put her on some antibiotic for 7-10 days - the staph clears up and then reappears a few months later. We haven't had a break out since August. Does your dog have this? Is there anything else we can do?

I'm 9 1/2 months pregnant and want to get this fixed for good before baby arrives.
