When I was trying to keep Ginger's hair long, I combed it every day. LOL, who am I kidding. I was obsessed and combed it several times everyday.
Now that her hair is short, every other seems to be plenty. Her hair never mats (even when long), but it is so fine it just looks messy alot.
Bernie, on the other hand, came to me with short hair and his is growing. I gave him a schnauzer/westie/schnorkie cut and left the "fringe" long. His hair mats easily, so I comb that out daily.
